The watch present here is the Big Bang MP-11 ref. 911.QD.0123.RX, which features a unique 3D carbon case that is not only highly durable and lightweight but also creates a striking visual impact. Carbon is a material usually popular in racing because it has an optimal relationship between weight and resistance, and is able to withstand great levels of torsion. Measuring at 45mm, the sturdy carbon case and bezel protect the main character of the watch – the movement. The watch is powered by Hublot’s in-house calibre HUB9011 that is water resistant up to 30m and boasts an astounding power reserve of 336 hours, or 14 days. To achieve this, Hublot engineers and watchmakers have developed an original design movement that incorporates seven barrels paired in series, allowing for the transmission of energy between the movement’s horizontal axis barrels and the vertical wheel which drives the hour and minute displays. Through a skeletonized dial, the intricate and meticulous craftsmanship is on full display. Sealed with Hublot’s classic 6 “H” headed titanium screws screwed in randomly, the watch has an iconic look to it. The watch is completed with a black rubber strap, however thanks to Hublot’s easy strap-changing system, you can interchange between countless straps to help suit the character and personality of the wearer.
