Message from our co-founders

Hey, it’s Sean and Austen, the co-founders of Apex Time.

Our journey with watches started pretty inconspicuously. At four, Austen was given his first watch – a Flik-Flak from his mom; on his wedding day, Sean received a Rolex Submariner ‘Hulk’ from his in-laws. Little did we know that that was the beginning of a lifelong infatuation.

Building Apex Time over the past three years has been the most incredible, fulfilling experience of our lives so far. Today, we’re the first Asia-based, globally-recognized watch resale platform that is fully transparent – buyers know what sellers net, and sellers know what buyers pay.

Apex Time would not be what it is today without our incredibly dedicated and hardworking team, but we’re just getting started – our team is expanding faster than ever. We’re looking for people who are passionate and care deeply about what they do, are excited about the prospect of transforming industries, and are dedicated and committed to building something revolutionary. If this sounds like you, then get in touch – Apex Time just might be the place for you.

Join us: a career about time

In the world of fine watchmaking, time is not an enemy, but a partner. The assembly of every movement, the polishing of every chamfer, and the adjustment of every complex function are all based on extraordinary patience. We are a professional organization specializing in the sales and service of fine timepieces and are currently looking for someone willing to work with precision mechanics, elegant craftsmanship and long-termism.

Who we are – a work philosophy

We are not a retail company pursuing short-term expansion, but a small team with professional depth at its core. In the industry of high-end watches, the products themselves are the best language – they do not need exaggerated narratives, they only need to be correctly understood, properly maintained, and sincerely recommended to people who truly appreciate them.

Therefore, what we expect from every participant is not simply “sales ability”, but a heartfelt respect for mechanical watches and a willingness to learn. Regardless of whether you have previous luxury retail experience, as long as you have a rigorous work style, clear logical expression, and the patience to serve others, this place will provide you with enough room for growth.

Job content of open positions

At present, we mainly open two types of positions: timepiece consultants and after-sales service coordinators.

The core responsibility of the timepiece consultant is to receive guests who have made appointments in the store and help them understand the movement types, material characteristics and wearing details of different watches in a quiet environment. This job does not require you to memorize a lengthy parameter list, but I hope you can learn to observe the real needs of the customer – for example, whether the customer values the legibility of the dial more, or the efficiency of automatic winding; whether he is looking for a sturdy steel case watch suitable for daily commuting, or whether he is particularly interested in the hand-modified texture of a limited edition. A good consultant will act like a guide, not a salesperson.

The after-sales service coordinator is mainly responsible for meeting customers’ watch maintenance needs, including recording fault descriptions of watches submitted for inspection, coordinating the inspection schedule of the technician team, and explaining inspection conclusions and maintenance recommendations to customers. This position requires a basic understanding of mechanical structures, patience and organization, and the ability to follow up on the maintenance progress of multiple watches at the same time and update the status in a timely manner.

Terms we offer

In terms of working environment, we provide professional appreciation tools, ample product exposure opportunities, and a quiet and comfortable office space. Each new timepiece consultant will receive two weeks of intensive training, covering the structural analysis of mainstream movements, the wear characteristics of different case materials, and how to provide effective assistance without actively disturbing guests. The training for after-sales positions also includes basic fault phenomenon classification, and introduction to the use of waterproof detectors and travel time counting machines.

In terms of career development, we encourage internal job rotation. Many colleagues started out as consultants and gradually accumulated sufficient product knowledge before moving into purchasing support or training functions; some after-sales colleagues also chose to pursue further studies as more professional watchmakers through long-term contact with movements. We do not require everyone to stay in one role for a long time, but we hope everyone can be professional and honest at every stage.

In terms of culture and values, what we value most is the correct understanding of “time”. The pace of the high-end watch industry is much slower than that of the general consumer goods industry. It may take several months from the time a watch leaves the factory to the time it is sold, and a complex movement maintenance may take several weeks. In such a rhythm, rushing for success can lead to mistakes. We appreciate more those who can move forward with work calmly, repeatedly confirm details, and do not lower their standards due to external pressure.

What kind of you do we expect?

If you fit most of the following descriptions, you’re probably a good fit for this team:

You have a clear interest in precision machinery, even if you studied a completely different major before;

When communicating with others, you are accustomed to listening first rather than rushing to conclusions;

You can take on repetitive tasks—such as checking the same movement from different angles with an eyepiece every day—and still find anomalies in the repetition;

You take your commitments very seriously and are almost never late for the agreed time;

You don’t like overly social or formal meetings, preferring to spend your time on practical matters.

At the same time, we also need to be honest: this job is not suitable for those who want to earn high income quickly, or who expect to face different “drama” every day. Most of the time, our daily workdays are quiet and orderly—precisely what most of our colleagues find most satisfying.

How to apply

The application process is also designed to be simple and straightforward. Please submit a short application through the “Careers” portal on the homepage of the website. The content does not need to be in a complicated format, just state:

Which position are you interested in?

Your most recent experience of actively learning something new (does not need to be related to watches);

The three factors that you value most in your current career (e.g. professional growth, work pace, relationships with colleagues, etc.).

We will conduct a preliminary screening within five working days of receiving the application. If the two parties are interested, you will be invited to the store for a relaxed conversation – not an interview in the traditional sense, but more like getting to know each other at the movement appreciation table. You’ll have direct access to the tools and products we use every day to work, and you’ll also meet team members you might work with in the future.

Time does not fail the patient. If you believe this too, we look forward to receiving your application.
